Cloud Java Technical Lead

Responsibilities
• L3 SME for technical resolution and investigation.
• Guide team and develop/maintain cloud native applications.
• Work alongside systems and development teams to support transition and operation of client web sites/applications in and out of AWS.
• Setup and enforce best practices for Cloud Applications in areas such as Security, Coding Standards, deployment, lifecycle management, CI/CD and operations.
• Regular maintenance of provisioned systems including patch management, hardening, backup, system monitoring etc.
• Provisioning and de-provisioning AWS accounts for internal customers.
• Deploying, managing, and operating AWS environments.
• Estimating AWS costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms.
• Keep technical documentation up-to-date.
• Proactively keep up to date on AWS services and developments.
• Create (where appropriate) automation, in order to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes.
• Lead certain data/service migration projects

 

Team Management
• Strong team player to project and application team to ensure key deliverables meet customer expectation.
• Demonstrate team synergy and harmonize team integration.
• A pro-active approach to work, with a positive can-do attitude.

 

Requirements
• At least 5 years of relevant IT experience in AWS environment.
• A good tertiary education in Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of relevant development experience in Java, J2EE, JavaScript related technologies.
• At least 5 years of experience in Linux based systems.
• AWS Certified Architect - Associate level or higher.
• Strong hands-on experience in Cloud native technologies such as AWS Lambda, ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, etc.
• Well-experienced in common AWS technologies like VPC, and regionally distributed EC2 instances, S3, Cloudtrail, Cloudformation, ELB, Route53, SNS and more.
• Experience in provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS.
• Experience in Cloud architecture and solutioning.
• Capabilities to provide AWS operations and deployment guidance and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a project.
• Expertise in AWS Security Guidelines and best practices.
• Experience with application / data migration to/from AWS.
• Experience in setting up CI/CD pipeline (such as Jenkins, test automation, code scanning etc.) and coding/deployment standards.
• Experience with configuration and management software, such as GIT.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work in a collaborative environment.
• Detail-oriented, strong work ethic and high standard of excellence.
