IT Procurement, Director

• Develop long-term sourcing strategy and develop world class IT purchasing capability (knowledge & competencies, leveraging Corporate Procurement systems and processes) to meet GIT needs.
• Direct the development and delivery of savings programmes that deliver significant ROI across the Group IT.
• Drive strategic negotiations with key suppliers on GMSA or tenders to meet the requirements of Group IT.
• Drive the development of complex supplier agreements, including licensing, services, and hardware specific to an IT organisation.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to meet strategic procurement outcomes.
• Define communication and knowledge strategy across Procurement function and ensure high ethical standards are met.
• Guide training programs and development activities for the development of knowledge base, within the procurement and across the broader Group IT team, to strengthen the overall capability of IT leaders on contractual and sourcing strategies and activities.
• Provide inputs to the business planning cycle and develop a clear strategy to address emerging business needs.
• Develop and lead continuous initiatives across procurement function to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement.
• Manage support, funding, personnel and materials necessary to carry out Procurement activities, including develop and implement the annual strategic, operating and budgeting plans for procurement.
• Create a culture that strives to add value, reward initiative, promote talent and expand procurement knowledge.
• At least 10 to 15 years' Procurement experience within a complex business environment.
• Proven track record in managing an IT procurement activities, in a medium to large scale organisation and demonstrated strategic focus.
• Proven knowledge of IT or associated business strategies.
• Strong people management skills and direction in a large corporation at both director and management level.
• Negotiation skills with vendors and regulatory bodies.
• Ability to manage sensitive commercial negotiations.
• Capability to assess and recommend procurement improvement, cost savings initiatives and strategic vendor management.
• Highly articulate, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage competing priorities, including suppliers.
• Ability to function pro-actively and independently, at a senior company level and create a plan to obtain senior management buy-in by consensus.
